This afternoon it was time to leave Lethran and start on the next leg of my journey. I had a choice to make, should I go towards Sylvara and see if there is anyone who can give me more information about the unusual animal behaviour and maybe find out more about these Goose Paths, or perhaps turn towards Eldran and the nearest Ministry of Alignment Liaison Office.
In the end it was an easy decision, and I made it right there in the skein-wrights workshop. There are people in Bern relying on me to get the connections fixed!
I packed up my stuff and decided to get a bit of a head start on the journey to Eldran, I managed to get a lift on one of the Roadwardens rumblers after I agreed to help fix any broken signs we found along the way.

I travelled with them until the road turned south to skirt Brae Wood, I decided I wanted to get back on the slow path and feel the land beneath my feet. I made my way to the edge of the woods and made camp for the evening.
It is such a peaceful place, the woods feel somehow comforting and calm. As I sat by the fire, fixing my Skein Band, a bear appeared, closer than I have ever seen one. He moved softly towards me on those huge paws, then just stopped and watched.

We watched each other for a minute or two then, with a sort of slow mutual respect, he backed off a few metres and settled down to sleep and I returned to fixing my device.
I remembered then that my mother always used to tell me tales of the bears when she was small, about how they lived closer then.
