If not me, then who?

If not me then who? If not now then when?

I have been trying to figure out if those words are from a poem or just something I heard in a speech once, but what ever they are, they seemed appropriate for right now!

I am writing this as a break from packing, I have decided to document this journey because I have a feeling I will travel further from home than I have ever been and have encounters I can’t even imagine! If this turns out not be true I will, at least have found the answers I need quickly and will be able to get on with my life.

Honestly I am not sure which one of those things I would prefer! I, of course love my life here, my house this community, and being the village Cord-Wright is never dull! But I would like to see more of the world, there is definitely a part of me that wants to have an adventure! Or maybe lots of small adventures strung together like an adventure archipelago!

Fia packing her bag for her journey!

Well whatever I might prefer, I think adventure awaits me anyway.

I seem to have started this story in the middle, or at the very least the middle of the start. Let me backtrack here a little bit and tell you why I am engaging in this potential adventuresome endeavour!

As I have already mentioned I am the village Cord-Wright which means I am the village fixer and mender and general doer of things. I am trained in leatherwork, textiles, and I know about the fundamentals of the World Skein infrastructure, I am not a data expert but I can keep the community connected.

Or at least I could until recently. There have been some particularly odd updates and outages in the Great Resonance, nothing that can’t be worked around but it’s not quite as smooth as it usually is and I can’t get to the bottom of it! We are a little slower paced around here but recently news feeds are becoming more and more sporadic. I can’t tell whether it is a local Skein issue or if it is more widespread!

Talking with the rest of the village, people are noticing little things, the innkeeper told me that there seem to be fewer Aethri travellers than usual and people are not staying quite as long.

The boatmen from the river say that the traffic has increased, they don’t know why or what is being transported there are just enough new boats to be noticed.

And then there are the geese or lack of geese to put it more accurately. We normally get a flock or two of migratory geese in the fields at this time of year, but so far nothing!

No one else seems to be worried, but all these little things seem odd to me, so I have decided to try to get to the bottom of it! I might not be able to find out about the geese but the Data Wranglers in Lethran might be able to help me with the connections so that is where I am heading first!!

Or at least I will be if I ever get packed up! I will keep you posted if I find out anything new along the way!
